Social interaction

Introduction
With the use of technology and remote working, there is less face-to-face human connection. However, it is well known that social interaction is important for well-being, especially at the family level.
Our social circles are important in defining us, ie your self belief is generated by the people around you and their behaviour. For example, if you have close obese friends, your chance of being obese is increased by 45%; your friends, who don't know the obese people, their chances of obesity increased by 25% (source: Jon Levy as quoted by James Whitaker, 2024). This is applicable to many other characteristics, behaviours, etc, like happiness, smoking habits, voting habits, etc
