Some Misunderstandings about GenAI
- too much focus on the technical aspects and not enough on the people side of the technology (need to align technology with people)
- casual approach to introducing GenAI (encourage employees to play, experiment, etc with GenAI; encourage a natural approach; however,
"...Most employees lacked time, energy, skills to explore something as new and potentially overwhelming as GenAI tools without support and clear links to the organisational outcomes. Without a strategic framework, the approach rarely translates into meaningful adoption..."

- over focus on cost reduction (GenAI is seen solely as a way to reduce costs; this ignores the potential to augment workflows, enhance creativity, etc; this can lead to resistant behaviours related to the fear of job loss, role changes, organisational restructuring, etc.)
- use a 'big bang' approach (it is more effective to have a phased, targeted rollout of GenAI rather than a one time, universal rollout across the entire organisation; as different parts of the organisations will be at different readiness levels, a phased approach is more suitable; factors to consider are data quality, existing competencies, perceived job impacts, alignment with enterprise strategy, etc; initial focus should be on identifying the most suitable areas of the organisation in which to start the rollout.)
