Technique 5.17 Making Bold Decisions
Introduction
Successful people have 2 universal traits
"...1. All of them make lots of decisions (and 'own 'the outcomes and progress)
2. None of them get it 100% right (aim for a 70% strike rate at being right)..."
Greg Layton, 2023
Some questions to guide you in decision-making:
1. What is the worst that can happen? How can you minimise this?
(think commercially, operationally and culturally)
2. What is the best that can happen? How can you increase the chance of this happening?
(think commercially, operationally and culturally)
3. How should you communicate this? Is there anybody you need to warn?
4. Are there any extra pieces of data/information, etc you need to collect?
"...decisions should be about improving the business and the lives of people in it. They can invigorate your people. And when you get in the habit of making good decisions regularly, it boosts your confidence of being able to do the job and go to the next level..."
