Exercise (less is more)
While all types of exercise are beneficial, a comprehensive literature review has shown
"...exercise is 1.5 times more effective than counselling and medication at managing anxiety and depression.....also found that less is more when it comes to exercise, with the data indicating it longer exercise programs were less effective than shorter ones......this is the opposite to the dose-benefit relationship observed for exercise and physical health outcomes......But,in practice, drugs are readily given first, despite the fact that hundreds of trials have suggested that physical activity has the same effect as drugs and counselling..."

A possible explanation shorter programmes being more effective than longer one is
"...Patient found it easier to comply with shorter programs, long ones can be more burdensome, which can reduce the psychological benefits of exercise..."
Jill Margo, 2023
Most effective for anxiety was yoga; owing to the gentle mind-body activities.
For managing lifestyle issues like anxiety and depression, the focus should be on exercise, sleep and diet. For exercise, aim for 150 minutes per week with a combination of exercises; it doesn't take much exercise to have a positive change to your mental health.
