Some Tips for Improving Self-awareness
Improving self-awareness is an iterative process: the more you observe yourself, the more accurately you see patterns and the better choices you can make.
- Be mindful (practise mindfulness and understand non-verbal responses, ie voice tone, body language, facial expressions, etc)
- Talk (keep things in perspective; be proactive around discussing your own and others’ thoughts, feelings and behaviours)
- Quality time (spend quality time together and alone to maintain independence and stability; quality time alone important for reflection)
- Be considerate (share your perspective and respect others’ perspectives.)
